Solbes-Gonzalez, what a masterpiece

Five games without losing a set. It was an impressive march that led Miguel Angel ‘Miki’ Solbes and Miguel Gonzalez to triumph in the FIP RISE played at the Eurosporting in Cordenons, Friuli Venezia-Giulia. In the final, Solbes and Gonzalez – the first seed in the draw – defeated (6-2 6-3) Carlos Perez Cabeza and Emiliano Martin Iriart.
“We played very well, against a strong pair – said the two winners -. In the previous matches we accumulated some tiredness, but we are very happy to have played a great tournament and to have won it. The goal is to improve as a pair and achieve the best possible result in the next tournaments”.
Italian success, on the other hand, in the women’s draw, where the top two players in the Italian ranking – Erika Zanchetta and Caterina Baldi – beat Monaco’s Raluca Sandu and Spain’s Carmen Azcoitia Mazo 6-1 6-4, who stayed on court almost three hours to defeat Spain’s Nati Lopez and Almudena Marchena Asin in the semifinals. Zanchetta and Baldi were not among the seeded players: their weekend in Cordenons was a true masterpiece.
